ABOUT ME
Dear friends and visitors,
this is my very first website, and the very first 'about me'-page I design.
In addition to that, it is in English, wherefore I kindly ask you to be understanding with me if I make a mistake somewhere.
Serious reviews are wanted and greatly appreciated, since I strive to improve myself where I can.
My name is Jan Kanarski, I am 20 years old and highly interested in photography. This is the reason why I created the website: I wanted to show you my personal interpretation of art.
Yes, I do consider photography as an art, even though I know that other people's opinions may be different. The most common argument is 'Nowadays everybody can buy and use a DSLR and call him- or herself an artist or photographer'...and this is understandable. But why can't it be like that? Who cares ?
Everything is fine, as long as everybody is happy with the occupation. Nobody is harmed.
For me it is an art, because I can express my current ideas, emotions and feelings in one shot. A photograph is an interaction between model and photographer. A symbiosis. Without a model there won't be a picture. The same happens without having a photographer.
I started self-teaching myself in photography a year ago while attending high school in Germany. More specific: While I should have been studying for my final exams, I've rather grabbed my camera and went outside in order to try new styles of photography. Long exposures, wildlife photography and even creative compositions with glass balls etc..
And how the universe wanted it to happen: I graduated successfully while pursuing my hobby.
Now, I want to encourage YOU to pursue YOUR hobby, because that's what keeps you alive and well.
The photographs published here, were mostly taken in Canada.
As soon as I return to Germany, I'll upload more content.
My current gear is a Nikon D3100 with three lenses:
Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G VR
Nikkor 55-300mm 1:4,5-5,6G ED VR
Vivitar 85mm f/1.8
Pretty simple, but powerful.
